Why We Started
The global demand for cooling is rising fast — and traditional energy systems can’t keep up sustainably. Sun‑Ice Energy was founded in Singapore to create a new path forward: cooling powered entirely by the sun, stored efficiently, and available 24/7.
Our Story
The idea began during the European energy crisis, when soaring electricity prices forced ice rinks to shut down. Our founders saw an opportunity to rethink cooling from the ground up. Early prototypes proved that solar‑powered thermal storage could deliver dependable cooling without relying on the grid. That insight became the foundation of Sun‑Ice Energy.

Jacques Mouchet
Founder
Jacques is the founder of Sun‑Ice Energy and a serial inventor with more than 50 patents. He is also the President and Founder of ATEQ, a global leader in leak‑testing technology operating in over 40 countries and serving more than 5,000 businesses. Jacques has transformed the leak‑ and flow‑testing industry and is the inventor of the world’s first solar‑cooled ice‑skating rink. A long‑time advocate for sustainability and electric mobility, he continues to drive innovation across Sun‑Ice’s technology portfolio.
Cong Yue
Founding member
Yue is a founding member of Sun‑Ice Energy and oversees international operations. With extensive experience managing cross‑border teams and business units, she ensures smooth coordination across the company’s global activities. Fluent in English, Chinese, and French, she supports Sun‑Ice’s operational execution and international expansion.
Philip Mouchet
CFO
Philip is the CFO of Sun‑Ice Energy and brings over 20 years of experience in corporate finance and insurance. A Chartered Management Accountant and qualified Treasurer, he provides financial leadership, risk management, and strategic oversight to support the company’s global operations
Michael Saddler
Sales/Business Development
Michael leads global sales and business development for Sun‑Ice Energy. With more than 20 years of experience across finance, commercial strategy, and customer engagement in Asia and the Pacific, he supports partners in adopting Sun‑Ice solutions.
